We are looking for a puppy or maybe two and wish to know more about this breed with a view to buying, can anyone tell me where to find the appropriate breeder near to either Whitstable kent or Islington London. I have already gathered certain facts about them and would like to know if they would make suitable pets for a couple like ourselves, we live in kent.
My email is :marilyn.virginia@virgin.net
Thanx

Hi Marilyn, I'm one of the American Cocker enthusiasts on the board, I imagine the other one, Gwen will be along soon. You have chosen a very beautiful and glamorous breed that requires a huge amount of grooming if you want to keep them in long coat. Most owners of 'pet' Yankees opt for a easy care short utility trim, for which regular visits to the groomer are neccessary. American Cockers are tough little cookies that will enjoy as much exercise as you are willing to provide, once they are fully developed. No puppy should be over exercised. They are great about the house, being of ideal managable size, and super little characters, bright as buttons and full of fun. The breed comes in a variety of colours, for black, black & tan, buff, chocolate, choc & tan, black & white, red & white, sable, sable & white, tri colour and God knows what else.
I have four, two blacks, and two black & tans. Two are dogs and two are bitches.

Hi Marilyn, Well as Dawn said, here I am. Agree with all Dawn said about the breed - they are great fun, full of character, but not low maintenance. A lot depends on your lifestyle if they will suit you or not, why not join the list and we can discuss it more.
bye
Gwen
