Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Where can i get white vinegar
- By SHANE75 [gb] Date 02.05.03 13:10 UTC
Hi All

Somebody on the board posted a message about using white vinegar diluted in water to use when there puppy wet in the house, i have been to the supermarket this morning but the only one i could get was the distilled vinegar is this the same one? Only i came home and mixed some up but it does not seem to be putting him off he was licking at it so i assume that i have brought the wrong one.
Anybody that can help i would be very grateful for.

thanks
Helen

Helen,

The vinegar in water takes away the smell of urine. If your pup likes the taste, it's not a problem. I bet he was not licking the spot where he urinated without the vinegar - so it may well have done the trick. My puppy licks up the expensive stuff you can buy in Pets at Home to take away the smell. (She also likes the taste of the bitter sprays that pups are supposed to hate.) It's not a problem so long as the urine odour is gone.
