Has anyone ever seen a picture of one of these? i.e. the cross bred by the Queen (I think it was either last year or 2001). I have done many internet searches but can't find a photo and I am not too convinced that the cross breed was a very good idea.
What do the Dachshund owners think?

It wasn't , as far as I know , a deliberate cross ...one of the Queens Corgis mated with one of Princess Margarets Dachschunds called Pipkin. There have been 8 Dorgis ...called Tinker, Pickles, Chipper, Piper, Harris, Brandy, Cider and Berry.

There is a picture here : Queen and Dogs (and yes , it says 3 Dorgis in that piece , but I have to assume there have been more since then ;)

gee thanks Melody and - doh! I've hit that page a few times before but must have got only the text version. They are pretty cute although I can't see if any of the sweeties ended up with a corgi bod on a dachs' legs!.
I must have my corgi/royal gossip wrong as a few people from the WC League and a Palace mate told me it was a deliberate experiment (although come to think of it the latter is a wind up merchant...). Sir Michael Peat obviously put a good spin on it and all is now clear.
BTW I'm not a huge Royal Watcher but I'm so impressed with your knowledge of all those corgis' names, LOL, I thought I was bad with my corgi door knocker.

I'd always heard it was deliberate, Melody, but perhaps you're privy :) to inside information :p

As there have been replacement Dorgi's I think there may have been the original accident, and engineered meetings since!
