Any info please !!! my bitch was mated twice first on Feb 23rd and 24hrs later , I have counted 63 days from the first mating as her due date which makes her 61or 59 days today, but when I had a scan done at 4 weeks he made her 4 days behind my dates he explained that she could have concieved after the seconding mating etc.... but now I'm a bit confused on the due date although we are ready !!!

Hi, I am prepared and ready for the litter to arrive safely from 5 days early to the first mating,up to 5 days late to the last, if that makes sence, as you never know when they actually conceive.Good luck. Gail:) :) :)

Hi we are lucky enough to have her breeder on hand which is a great help, she's a cavalier king charles..

If she was mated on Feb 23rd, her 'due date' would be 27th April. If she concieved after the second mating that gives you a couple of days after that before you need start getting concerned if nothing's happened. In the meantime, take her for plenty of short walks to keep her fit but don't get her tired, and both of you get plenty of rest!

Hope this helps! :)

Due dates can be very confusing. My vet told me that the sperm can live inside the bitch for 6 days or more, meaning that she may have conceived 6 days after you mated her.
One of my bitches went 7 days after her so-called due date.Everyone was telling me to get her to the vet for a c-section,something must be wrong. The vet checked her over and said everything is progressing as it should.Let nature take it's course. She eventually gave birth to 9 very strong healthy pups.
Just keep an eye on her very closely about a week before she's due as of course they can also make an early appearance.

Good luck!

Karen.

pups arrived this morning 3 boys and one girl !! but sadly lost one of the boys soon after, things were very slow so we took her to the vets at 1am as her contractions had stopped a quick jab and she soon moved LOL :) mum doing fine although she thinks the heat pad is just for her..... as for me a large drink later !!!!!
