Hi all,
Which free FTP software do you use for building your websites? I'm looking for something like WS-FTP but which does not expire after the 30 day trial period. Please give me your recommendations for reliable, easy-to use programs! :)
Cheers!

Hi Montys mum
FRONTPAGE for building and just drag and drop the files from your pc to the folder on your web site server. That's what I do anyway...or you can do it straight from frontpage with the publish to web option in the file menu. :)

There's WS-FTP LE (Limited Edition) which is a totally free download (no expiry)- it doesn't have all the bells & whistles of the Pro version of WS-FTP but I have found it does the job perfectly well, plus it's quite a small download so doesn't take up too much space, always a bonus :-) Just do a search on Google & you'll find several download sites for it.
Thanks everyone for your replies, regarding free FTP programs. :) I've checked out your links with interest, and with JaneS's input I have found an LE version of WS-FTP, which is exactly what I needed. ;)
If anyone is interested, you can find it
here.
Thanks again!

hi, are you after software to build OR upload a site to the net?
the 2 are different, ftp stands for file transfer protocol - FTP.
If your a novice to building sites, then maybe a WYSIWYG ("what you see is what you get") editor, rather than writting HTML (hypertext markup language) programming.
Once your ofay with the general bits and pieces, you can then look at Javascript/java bells and whistles.
Along with asp, and php programming.

Not free and not that cheap, but personally I don't think you can go wrong with Dreamweaver, gives you the best of both worlds.
