CAN ANYONE OUT THERE HELP WE ARE NEW TOO PEKE SHOWING AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHICH PRODUCTS TO USE IN THE GROOMING OF THE MANE TO MAKE IT THICK AND STAND OUT FROM THE BODY.HAVE LOOKED AT LOTS OF GROOMING PRODUCTS.IN THE PEKE BOOKS IT MENTIONS BAY RUM BUT WHAT DO YOU DO WITH IT.

If you are in the UK no product other than water can be on the coat when the dog is being shown. :)

Leaving aside the matter of what cant be used in the coat, your best bet is to get in touch with your breeder, and see if some one to one tuition on grooming techniques might be available. In a breed like Pekes I think it would be VERY HARD to learn from books, and I dont think there is a Peke grooming video out yet.
