Hi and apologies if recommendations have been made in the past. If so please could someone point me to the link? We are using a clip on collar made of tough looking fabric on the corgi. It fits comfortably and he does not pull on the lead. I brush him with a slicker once a day. I've noticed a "collar line" appearing in his fur which I have to brush back into place but the line quickly reappears- thankfully there does not appear to be any sign of baldness or redness but I'm not sure if this is a problem waiting to happen. Is there a collar which will help reduce this problem? I am reluctant to take the collar off when at home just in case he slips out [highly unlikely but I don't want to tempt fate even though he is chipped.] thanks cissy
Hi Cissy, I've found the only type of collar to prevent this mark is a rolled leather collar - all the flat collars seem to wear a line in the fur. Other than that the only other option is to leave off the collar - which as you say can be a risk. Hope this helps. :)

thanks very much JG - I wish my vet had said that a few weeks ago when he had a checkup. He insisted wrongly that I was letting him pull on the lead. Will look for one and try it. Hope your leg is getting better and you are preparing yourself for the shock of seeing one leg skinnier and hairier than the other.:D cissy [who had entire leg in plaster once for an entire summer as a result of jumping off table doing a Shakin' Stevens impression viz. "Green Door"]
When I was getting re-plastered a fortnight ago a woman had just had a full-length plaster removed - and her leg was covered in scribble where she'd been scratching it with the business end of a biro! :D :D
thank you - and once again huge apologies to both - I just found your old March thread on this after yet another search. Now off to do the impossible and find the thinnest bit of a corgi's neck, Lol. cissy
Brainless , thank you for that link ..I've been using a leather half check but not a rolled one and Hudson HAS got a definite collar mark ..mind you he pulls like a train for a lot of his walk  :D
