Hi,
My 4 year old male BC is kc reg/isds reg. He is working A obedience and senior agility and has recently had several placings and BOB's at open shows. In the last month several people have asked about using him as a stud dog. Today I got out his pedigree and when I looked at it, is sire's side of the pedigree wasn't there! When I first got him I wasn't too into this pedigree lark, I just wanted a dog for agility so didn't look twice at his pedigree. I'm stil in contact with his breeder so am I entitled to write to her and explain what his wrong with his pedigree and ask for a properly filled in one? Or have I left it too late as he is 4 years old now?
Any help much appreciated,
Charlotte

Hi Charlotte, if he is KC reg then you can get a copy of his full pedigree by contacting them. You could just phone his breeder and ask for the missing name I'm sure she will be happy to provide you with the missing details.

Hi Charlotte you could also contact the Kennel Club who will sell you his pedigree but if you look on his reg papers it should give you his sires name and if you type that into google it may give you some leads to his ancestors. Also you could try looking Here Happy hunting :) Gillian

If he is ISDS registered his father's name will be on his ISDS Certificate & you can trace him through that as well

Roy Goutte would also be able to help you research his pedigree

Hi Charlotte

Is it possibly he is on the KC working register? Does anyone know if the KC print ancestors on this as they don't print any details except name, breed and owners in the BRS.

By all means I would contact the breeder and ask which register he is on and for full details. Do the ISDS produce pedigrees?

Good luck in all your various competitions

Probably means that the sires side of the pedigfree hasn't been filled in. It could just have been an omissiojn on the breeders part when writing out the peds, obviously they would know the bitches side, so would have maybe filled that out first, intending to get a copy of Dads pedigree from the Stud owner, and perhaps it just got overlooked.
