Adam got the Bitch CACIB for GSPs in Ireland today. We think we understand green star system but does anyone know what you need to get to become an int. champ. Is it 4 cacibs from at least 2 separate countries . Someone said something about 'working certificate.so we are unsure.
thanks
Hi Star, congratulations & yes your right on the Int cert. part it is neede but I believe the Cacibs have to be from 3 different countries & it`s OK if the 4th is doubled up on a country (I think). My Sweepy can`t get the Int. because there are no working trials for Labs in Spain, even tho she has about 10/11 Cacibs from Spain Portugal & Gibraltar.

seemingly you not only have to get the cacib-but your grading has to be exellent, or it doesnt count toward anything!!!!and i think you can get them all in one country [ireland] unless i picked it up wrong, -did you get graded,
Hi Diz, as far as I know the Cacib is from the FCI so the rules should be the same in Spain & Ireland? And I`m pretty sure you have to have 3 from different countries, well I did over here & then I found out about the working test & thought we might be exempt cos there are no trials for Labs here, but no we aren`t so Sweep couldn`t get the Int Ch title just the country titles. They can also be withheld by the judge like the CC as well. Didn`t know about being graded but they do all have excellent on them for Sweep :) Maybe different in Ireland tho??

Hi there in Ireland the ruling is 4 Cacibs from 4 different judges who must be from 3 different countries
As far as i am aware all must be graded Excellent, also if not excellent they cant continue to compete for best of breed if opposite sex is graded higher
There are 4 gradings dont quote me but i believe they are Excellent, very good, good and adeqate
im not sure bout the lower gradings never had one HO!HO!
One other point the exhibit must be older than 15 calender months to Qualify for CACIB
Although the exhibit under 15 mths can be awarded green star and Best of Breed
If the exhibit is under 15 mths the CACIB may be awarded to res Best of Breed if judge thinks it worthy
Also like the previous post correctly stated the Green Star ,RES Green Star,CACIB And RES CACIB may all be withheld if judge feels they are not deserved.
I have seen this done in nuerous breeds in Ireland and have withheld on more than one occasion myself
Hope this has been some help if i am incorrect feel free to set me straight
Cheers Wes
Hi T/Dog, thanks for that :) Another thing I just remembered doesn`t there have to be a yr & a day between when the first & the last one was awarded, or is that just the CC`s & is it the same about the working trials as in Spain?

Thanks all but still confused. Gaby did get graded excellent. Is there a wesbsite where we can find out this info do you know.
Sue
Hi Star, sorry can`t find anything else! :) All I know is I had to actually show Sweep in the 3 different countries under diff. judges where she got the Cacibs & I`ve checked with others here & they had to do same. How about emailing Irish Kennel Club & asking them or asking someone who`s got an Int.Ch in Ireland how they made the dog up? :)

you can win cc's at consecutive shows days apart and it wouls still count, so it's eith different overseas or your mixed up with a different award :D
Hi Diz, nope, no more confused & mixed up than normally :) :) this is the rules here. Have a look at this Swedish site, this is the same that applies here. What I think happens is every club has different rules to allow for any peculiarities in each country, if you see what I mean!

i agree, all countrys have there own sytsems, ive just about got ours sussed thanks :D , we dont get cacibs over here, [uk] so we work on cc's, challenge certificates, any class winner at a championship show is entitled to go in for the challenge for the cc, providing it hasnt been beaten in another class of course, so even a puppy could pick the ticket up, or a dog from the novice class, but we need 3 cc's under different judges and the qualifying one has to be got at over a year, so even if a youngster gained 20 cc's it wouldnt be a champion until it got its next after 12 months,
Over here is similar, puppy class can`t go for the cc`s tho & once you`ve made your dog a champion by getting 4 cc`s one of which must be from either the breed club show(one a yr for labs) or Madrid show by 3 diff. judges & an excellent from either of those shows they can then only ever enter ch dog into champion class to compete for the cacibs. In Gibraltar you only need 2 cc`s for champion cos they only have 2 shows a yr & until a few yrs ago only one a yr. Most shows that are bordering to other countries over here join up & have show on 2 consecutive days so you can try for 2 cc`s & 2 cacibs over a w/end from 2 different countries. Phew, hope I got that all right!! :) :) Bet poor Stars more confused than ever now!!!!! :)
Here`s a link to Gib club for rules on classes, it applies to all classes in Europe but it`s in English!! :)

Yes, your dog can become a Champion in 3 days, if you get 3 ch shows with different judges on consecutive days. Isn't the only stipulation the dog has to be over 12 months for at least on of the CCs, or am I making things up? ;)

We both posted at the same time!! I'm glad I had got my facts straight, anyway! :)
