We went shopping this weekend for the pup and we needed a lead, It had been mentioned to me before about a lead that you can shorten/lengthen with the use of clips and rings, I went to the shop and the assistant showed me one and the basics of how to use it. I was not sure at first but now i have got it home im even more unsure. It has two D rings towards the top and bottom of the lead and one large circular one in the middle. When you clip them in various places they dont seem to look tidy, The handles that the various positions make are i think too small for you to comfortabley fit your hand through.

Can anyone send me a picture of theirs and what it should look like or can you direct me to a good website with good instructions? Im thinking about taking it back, i may see if the trainer has some for sale or order one from the internet.

If you go to Kumfi and choose "Leads", you'll see some good leads. I have the "handy 2-in-1 lead" and find it really easy to use. I would recommend it. The handle loop is a generous size too. HTH.

I had a look and the only thing that my husband and i can conclude is that the shop owner sold us a lead that you use for 2 dogs, ie one on each end, not a training lead! Useless!

Im going to take it back and get a refund, i think i will go to the training class this week and see what they have and then perhaps buy one there or order one from the internet.

Honestly, what a waste of time, selling me the wrong product!

The lead I had for my GSD sounds like the description you give and is the 4-Way Convertible Working / Service Dog Leash - it has a picture of it clipped at various rings to alter the length. With mine I never end up with a small hand loop.
