A friend of mine has a 12 month old Border Collie bitch. For about a week last month my two dogs were very interested in her (Missy) but there was no blood to suggest she'd had a season. She has now thrown her coat and me or my friend wondered how long it would take her to grow her coat back and do they through their coat after every season?

I've never heard of that, Sky went through a few seasons here before we got her speyed (she was very irregular, and every time we had her booked in for her spey, she'd come back into season, but she's done now) and she never shed her coat after one. Nor when she was pregnant (when we adopted her she was pregnant, never bred her personally, she's a pet).
Perhaps there's another reason, stress, diet, the weather?
