i have a 4 year old jack russell, i have used him for breeding a couple of time, i have hears there is some kind of club you can register them with as they are not a pedogree breed can any ony tell me about this. also what is the difference of JRT and a parson terrior?

Hi Guest,
The other register is often used by puppy farmers and those whose pups are ineligible for registration with the Kennel Club. Many people regard it as worthless, as any person can register any dog of even fabricated breeds.

A Parson Russell Terrier is a KC recognised breed which is taller and squarer than the JRT.

i thought there was some kind of jack russell club you can join to put your dog at stud

I don't think even the Kennel Club has a Stud Registry.

Maybe a JRT fancier has started up something of their own, but I've never heard of one.

I think there was a registry for these dogs before the KC recognised the Parson I suspect there may still be one for the JRT perhaps Sam will know.
