My 5 month old bitch has been toilet trained for a few months now and always goes outside during the day,(the back door is left open for her all the time). At night she sleeps in a crate and does not mess. A few days ago she peed on the kitchen floor, even though the door was open, she has not done this for months but has done it every day since. Does anyone have an explanation as to why she has started to do this after so long, should I ignore it or do we need to go back to basic toilet training again.?

It could be the approach of her first season causing her to mark. I would go back to basics with the housetraining to remind her that it is not acceptable to go in the kitchen. Use a biological cleaner to clean up, so that the smell is gone for her.

Rose - as Brainless has said - go back to basics - they can slip especially if you stop praising them becuase it's all the norm. She is still very much a baby and like all babies will take some backward steps at times. back to basics, lots of praise etc and she'll sooon be back to her good self:D
