Hi, I hope someone can help. I have a 10 year old Dalmation who is generally healthy and very pampered but over the past 6 months she has become covered in lumps of varying sizes (pea size up to golf ball size, individual and massed). These don't seem to bother her but look dreadful and I am concerned. I can't pat her without feeling bumps and they are all over her body, legs and chest but only a couple on her face. She has had reactions to flea bites and a flea collar made her break out in sores all over her face. She looks such a mess but is eating well and just as lovable as usual but maybe a little more lethagic. Please someone help, any advice or ideas welcomed. Kind Regards, Lisa.

Have you spoken to your vet about this?

My parents cocker was covered in lumps like this and I think they were just fatty lumps and cysts. They didn't cause her any problems but it was horrible stroking her :(
Every time a new lump came up dad took Bess to the vets in case it was more serious but luckily it never was.
If I were you I'd take your dog to the vets and get them checked out.
Good luck,
Fiona

Sorry to hear about your Dalmatian. She may have what is called in the breed 'Dally Rash'. If she has, the lumps will eventually break out into red sores. They don't seem to hurt the dog, but will stain the coat a pink colour. It is unusual for a Dalmatian to get them for the first time at 10 years old. Is she on a commercial food? The only way I cleared them up on my Dalmatian was on the advice of an experience breeder to change his diet to a natural diet. I wasn't too keen on going the whole way with bones, so adapted it with raw good quality mince and loads of pulped vegtables, left out any biscuit until it had cleared.
Hope this helps

When I took our Dalmation to the vet because of her sores I also asked him to feel some 'lumps' that had been around a few weeks, they were not solid, quite 'fatty', I was worried about tumour but the vet said don't worry it's just a build up of fat. Now she has these sores and it is really looking like it is 'Dally Rash'. This imformation is brilliant!
