Does anyone know if spaying makes any differences to behaviour in a bitch? My dog has just finished her first season and will definately be spayed in 3 months time. However sie is quite nervous, but we found that contrary to what is supposed to happen her behaviour improved during her season. Some people have said that spaying doesn't affect behaviour, others have said she will calm down once spayed? Who is right? I am going to have her spayed no matter what.

Spaying stops the hormonal surges that cause the infamous "bitch on heat"...however, as to dogs calming down generally after spaying, advancing training and the pup getting older probably has alot to do with it!
