Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / TOP TIP from an old VIZ

I know there are some secret Viz fans here. Was going through my old mags last night and thought this was quite good advice:

"DOG OWNERS:
When out walking your dog make people think it is well trained by telling it to do whatever it happens to be doing at the time"
:)

Curses!

The patented Malamute Owners system for impressing people whilst out and about has been rumbled!!

I follow that advice. My four elkhounds walk very nicely on lead, being as they are four well spaced generations.

Any time I am out at night anf there is a group of yobs or someone that looks a bit sus, I quite loudly say to my little herd, 'leave it' 'walk close now' which is of course what they were doing anyway!!! :D

Jealous!! When I walk past yobs mine decides he wants to chat so as I'm trying to get him to move on he will do a "llama" impression [i.e. stand with paws rooted to the spot with head and brisket held high and defiant look on face] so I then have to say "ok, Lascaux STAND"! while I get sniggered at.
How desperate is that...?

i once walked past a whole army regiment on an airfield with a dalmatian wrapped around my leg. I could have shouted "hump", but i didn't think of it at the time :D

LOL - just as well you didn't- certainly the army officers I know would have instantly obliged you!!! :D
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 11.04.03 13:37 UTC
You would certainly have had the 'pleasure of their Company'!!!! :D

I'm in trouble now. My husband, a Major in the TA, has just read this thread and is pretending to be offended!
- By taffyparker [gb] Date 12.04.03 10:47 UTC
My best mate was in the Daily Mail yseterday featuring in an article about army wives who use the internet for support. There she is looking all chic and stylish and my hubby roars with laughter reading aloud "I'm just so frustrated.".......now I didn't translate it to mean what he did, but suspect he's right. So reassure TA hubby that rumour has it the wives are as rampant as the officers :D

hmmm not sure he should hear that!. He already thinks I cause enough mischief at his Regimental Balls - but who wouldn't, surrounded by all those handsome men in mess uniform, preening themselves... ;) [ADmin Quick!!! which one is the Irony Emoticon???] Having said that I am absolutely in agreement with that rumour and have had to turn many a blind eye!! :D
have a nice weekend. I better be off - the Major has just asked me what I am laughing at and is "tutting" in the hallway.
