Hi Shirley,
The best person to advise you on this would be your vet. Take the pup for a check-up anyway and get the best treatment for its age. It'll need worming too.
Good luck. :)

Garlic capsules/tablets. You can get them for pets also.

i have been recommended to use garlic capsules instead of flea drops,i find the drops leave the coat greasy, does the garlic work?and should it be used alone or still with flea repellants? i already use cod liver oil and oil of evening primrose capsules would adding these be ok?

I buy a tub of horse garlic granules. It works out much cheaper than buying garlic capsules :)

Hi Shirley,
Frontline is usually really good - has your older dog had the right dosage? If so, it's more likely that fleas are breeding around your house, and getting to the puppy from wherever they are (carpets, cracks in floor, etc) - you will be able to treat your puppy with a flea treatment, but check with your vet what is best, and worm as well because fleas can be the cause worms if swallowed by your puppy. I would treat the house as well - fleas can survive for months otherwise.

There is a Frontline for Puppies, we use it on ours. The vet should be able to supply you with it.

If your pup is picking up fleas it could be you need to treat your house. No offence but fleas live in carpets and jump on the dogs to feed. Go to your vet and ask for the appropriate product to treat the house by Frontline. It will break down the fleas life cycle.

When we bought our first house we had to treat the carpets because they were hopping

The previous owners had a cat.
Get a good household fleakiller from the vet. It's the only way to sort it out.
