Looking into what would be the recommended type of car harness for a Dobermann. Although only a pup at present he is rapidly growing to big to be a lap dog. As we own a Subaru (not a hatchback type) we cant have a crate (the kids would have no room in the back and I cant afford a Freelander yet) so I wondered about a harness. I noticed that the swivel variety was recommended. Do they work on the middle lapdeat belt or must the be placed on the over shoulder seat belt? Any suggestions/ideas would be appreciated.

further to this post , can anyone recommend a good harness type for a Staffy too ?
At present he is on my knee on the back seat ( not while I'm driving I might add :D ) but is getting too big . I have never used a harness before so would wlcome any advice .

Another good brand that you can get over here is the 'Ruff Rider' also known as the Roadie. You can check them out at www.ruffrider.com for a lot of info about them, but they can be ordered over here from Company of Animals. These two brands are the ones that I've found in my research to be the stongest.

Wendy thanks for the info. I did see your post on the for sale forum, but think it might be to small for my Dobermann when he is fully grown. I shall check out the other sites you have mentioned.

It would definitely be too small for the dobe fully grown - I was suggesting it for Lel's Staffy as it would be about the right size for him. But definitely worth checking out the sites for your dobe as they do both make the right sizes for him:)
