I have 20 month old black lab that seems convinced she is having puppies. She has come into season twice and both times resulted in a phantom pregnancy.

We have tried putting her on the "pill", hormones and milk inhibitor - however she has come into season again - and has started another phantom pregnancy.

She seems fine in herself and although producing milk, nesting and once going off her food doesn't "grieve" for her litter.

Is there anything anyone can suggest we can try? Our vets are reluctant to spay her while she is still having a phantom as they say this increases the bleeding during surgery.

Help!!!!
