A friend of mine who lives in France wants to buy a puppy while she is on holiday in England, and take it back with her to France. What does she need as regards paperwork etc?

I dont know the procedure for exporting a puppy to France but our vet told us that to take our pup there the initial procedure for a pet passport takes about 6 months for all the jabs etc !

If you contact DEFFRA they can send you a leaflet that outlines the requirements for specific countries. I know when I exported a pup to Europe that was going through France, that Fr4ance insisted on them being 3 months old, and you needed full vacinations (can't remember if it included Rabioes, as the country I was sending to required Rabies), and you needed a Health Certificare from a LVI (Local Veterinary Inspector), most practices have at least one LVI.
