I just read the Kennel Club General Code of Ethics. It makes very interesting reading, having read some of the threads about pups and breeders on here.
I'd do a link to the right page, but that's beyond my technical powers!

I love item 11 How are the people who refuse to register puppies going to react to that? If they show the KC could take action!
Regards, John

I think 3, 6 and 8 have got something going for them, too! :)

dosent say you have to register litter just if they are registered that you have to hand on the papers or if you say there registered must give papers
sandy.

It says that if you are the registered owner of a KC registered dog the documents must be provided,
including a copy of this code (my italics).

I have always had to photocopy the code to give the puppy buyers, can't understand why it isn't printed on the back of the registration certificates.

I was always astonished that it wasn't. It's on the litter registration form - but not on anything official that the new owner actually gets to keep.

Why does the Kennel Club have a code of ethics fail to take any action against any breeder reported to them for failing to abide by its code? Take number 9 for an example 'owners will not sell any dog to a commercial dog wholesaler or retail pet dealers'. Only have to take a look in Loot or Exchange Mart Diamong Free ads or Ad Trader as I believe it maybe now called to see the number of retail outlets selling puppies, an enquiry will advise you if they are selling puppies that are KC reg and many still do. Meaniing that every breeder that has supplied has broken the KC code of ethics. If you and I can see it so can the KC but they take no action, even when written to still take no action. My belief is that th KC code of ethics is a useless piece of paper, unless the KC puts its house in order by enforcing its own code of ethics. Does anyone have any clue as to why it does not enforce its own code?
