Have a border terrier .one year old.Considering putting him out to stud.At what age is this advisable and what other things have to be taken into consideration ???

Hi Simmo.
Why do you want to use him at stud?
Most people will not want to use a dog unless he has done considerable winning in the show ring, or is an exceptional working dog. Both ways, he MUST be a good example of the breed, otherwise he will most certainly pass on his "bad" points. Is his mouth correct? is he the correct size, is his conformation and movement good? All these are thing to consider, and above all, does he have a true Border temperament?

In addition to what Dawn has already said are you sure you really want the hassle speaking from personal experiance things aren`t always a straight forward as they seem using a dog as a stud is very time consuming and stressfull!!
