Topic Dog Boards / General / Ethical breeding???

Well this surely takes the biscuit! I truly thought that there were only 2 sorts of breeders - the serious "trying to improve/maintain the standard" ones, and the "I just fancy letting little Pansy having a litter" ones. They say that you can learn things on the Internet. Well this is certainly learning for me - I'm horrified! Poor little bitch!

Hi Val,

I agree with you 100% and I need say no more as you know my views on these fantastic ethical breeders. Sometimes they are the ones giving out advice all over the internet and various places. Sad really eh??

I phoned a person who had Pom's for sale in Greater Manchester advertised. They are the price that I wd. sell them for KC registered.

She seemed really nice at first, there were quite a few dogs barking in the background and we were having a good old chat. When I asked whether they were KC registered that's when the tone changed. She became very nasty said what she thought of the KC and said that the DLC (is that it?) registered!!! If she's like that with everyone who asks if they are KC registered she may have her pups for a while, although of course some people won't know any better.

Aaahh, some people.

Yes the Dog Lovers Club was formed by the very people who have the large Puppy Supermarket in Manchester!!!! They will register anything and buy in puppies from those bitches they have sold, so I am told by someone who bought one of our breed when they didn't know any better.

There were som Poms advertised in our local paper this week-end, which surprised me as I thought they were hard to come by. It said thay were DVLC registered which confused me - had they really passed their driving test :D Have since worked out it was a paper typo though  I am nowhere near Manchester.

I was surprised by the price too :o
