Hi!
I was wondering if anyone knows any good Lab rescue people on a small or large scale. I'm looking for a good black labrador retriever bitch, < 1.5 yrs . Having left home, i'm missing our Lab, a Collie x lunatic and the birds! Has anyone had good dealings with any of the rescue charities and could point me in the right direction? I'm in the south-east, so although Battersea DH is an option, i wanted to check purely lab people first. Also, what do people think of the pedigree vs rescue debate? We have always had pedigrees, and Tilly is a beautiful 6yr old black lab, but i feel that with my experience i could give a dog a good home that really needs it. I just want a bitch that is young enough for me to train her! Any comments ?!?!

Thanks so much for the link - they seem exactly the kind of people i'm looking for! I can't think about getting a dog until after my Finals (ahhh!!!), but i'm trying to do as much reading as possible and to be in touch with people so when the right dog comes along, i'm ready for it. Very exciting! Feel i may be doing a bit too much Doggie dreaming rather than revision!

Southeast - Reading area, but i'm at uni in Bristol, and hoping to settle in the countryside somewhere nearby - long muddy walks required for happiness of owner and dog!
