Hi Guest
Can i ask a few questions.
Is your dog Kennel Club Registered? (the breeder is the one to do this, so if you didnt get REGISTRATION papers (not his pedigree, thats just a family tree, then you cannot register him this means you cant register the pups either)
How old is your dog?
Why do you want to breed?
Are you willing to take some of the responsibility for the pups, should any of the buyers have to bring them back for any reason?
Has your dog had any of the tests necessary for his breed? (and if he isnt KC reg, then he can be tested, but not scored against a breed average)
Is your dog a better than average example of his breed, in looks, temperament and health? You can find this out by showing him, if he is KC reg.
Have you considered that once your dog has mated a bitch, his temperament may well change for the worse, and he could become a pain to live with?
If your dog is NOT good example of his breed, not KC reg, and you are doing this just because you think you might earn some money, then DONT DO IT. All you will be doing is contributing to the numbers of badly bred staffies in the country, and there are enough of them in rescue centres as it is. Not to mention the bad reputation the staff already has, due to irresponsible ownership and irresponsible breeders!
If however, your dog is a good example of the breed, well trained, KC reg, shown adn winning, health tested and over 2 years old, and if you are doing this because you want a pup from him, to keep, to show, breed in the future, for the good, and improvement of the breed, then yes, MAYBE you should breed. But, only maybe.
