I have a 6 month old Napolitan Mastiff that I just got(a friend of mine had no time for her) but I think shes a bit too thin and small. My uncle has a dark brindle old english male and he is only 5 months and almost twice her size ! I wanted to know if thats normal and if its not then how big is she supposed to be ? I mean standard size at that age and all.
Theres another problem, its with her eating habbits. I never used dry food with any of my dogs but this dog is being very picky. I usually feed my dogs milk, eggs, potatos, carrots, rice, macaroni, chicken wings, left over meat, grinded beef and things like that. But this dog picks out all the protein food along with the bones and eats it, in other words she leaves the vegetables and carbohydrates out. I dont really know what to do about it, how to make her eat the rest of the food.
Does anyone have any background abt problems like this ? Is this a mastiff habbit ?

Hi
The Mastino as an adult should be about 24 to 30 inches depending on sex if I remember right. the smaller height for females. They should weigh about 100 to a 150lbs again the female being lighter. The male bull mastiff is similar in height though not as bulky. Try www.moloss.com for more accurate info.

Hi Guest
Regarding her weight, has she been wormed recently? That's one possibility. Also regarding her size don't compare with an english mastiff they are larger than the Neapolitan Mastiff. I own a Neo and have done lots of research on the breed if you want any more info or advice feel free to E-Mail me, and I will help as much as I can
