Hi !
There are a few of us on here with weimaraners so please ask away and I'm sure you'll find many helpful answers from both weimar and non-weimar owners :-)
Best Wishes. :-)

I have a 7 month bitch who's absolutely beautiful - cheeky but beautiful. She's been really no problem since we first had her at 7 weeks and has added loads to our lives. She's downstairs at the moment tormenting my husband who's trying to play on the playstation!!!
PS: How do you put the faces on the posts???

If you go to Help at the top of the board it shows you how to do the faces :)

Hello DeeAnne
My Weim is 4 months old he is called Storm.
I have only had him for 4 days as his first owner had to give him up shortly after getting him from the breders due to an unforseen pegnancy.
After only four days with me he is asking to got out for the toilet, he is picking things up very quickly and is well behaved when he wants to and some times he is the devil himself!.(after a nap)
He is going to be big, at sixteen weeks he weighs over 21kg and looks pretty lean on it.
He has an umbilical hernia I have noticed I am not sure what to do about it I will check with the Vet next week.
I have not left him alone much yet I think this is going to be a struggle, he is going to come to work with me starting tomorrow he is a real shadow and follows me everyware he would get in the shower if I let him.
Best regards
John

I've been taking my pup, Tegan, to individual training at a school which specialises in gun dogs. It's really paying off (with lead work, retreiving) and their advice to help with chewing, pulling on the lead etc has been really helpful. I used to take her to group classes and whilst it was beneficial in terms of the socialisation process the lack of individual attention was not satisfying for either of us. Also, at the group class they were more interested in making the dogs lie down and when sitting next to you having their bums right up against your leg. All of this would obviously be necessary if wanting to show the dog but it taught me that different training schools will have different aims.
By the way I pay £7.50 for half an hour individual training where both Tegan and myself get trained!! I think it's more than worth it for such a strong personalitied breed!!!
Stinks.

Hi,
go to www.weimaraner-forum.org.uk
There you can join a forum, JUST for weimaraner owners, where you can ask as many weimar related questions as you like on this special breed.
Hope to see you there

Hope the puppy is progressing well. My first weimy is now 5 months and she is so intelligent and eager to please. She's been really easy to train so far (fingers crossed she doesn't start rebelling!) As someone mentioned their weim puppy has an umbilical hernia I wonder what the vets opinion was. I posted on the health board as I was worried about my pups largish hernia and it has thrown up quite alot of interesting suggestions. Would be interested to know if it is a problem in the breed and what the vets comments were on it (my vet didn't say anything and I'm sure he would have seen it)
