Hi
Has anyone downloaded the outlook express update, i've read that there can be problems viewing attatchments and also saving them to hard drive once it's installed, and also that once you've installed..you can't un install and have to do a complete installation of internet explorer and outlook ( could do a roll back I suppose if there was a problem )
Any thoughts ???
Thanks
Tracey

hi Guys
Yes I think its the 6 version, does it have a new tool bar where you can have smileys on it now ????
Sorry perhaps should have asked that in the first place. :)

I've not downloaded it yet cos of write ups about it, but will do if everyone says it's ok.

Tracey :)

That sounds more like Hotbar than an Outlook Express update though .......Hotbar is spyware and can slow your PC down so be careful if thats what it is ;)

Spyware sends information back to the company to help target spam. It watches what Internet pages you look at and sends that info ..Hotbar actually tells you that it does this ...but says it doesn't use that information for anything other than *helping* you navigate ;) :) Being a cynical person I take that with a pinch of salt :D

Having said that ...I liked hotbar when I was using it ..the smilies are nice ..but my PC (which is a new , fast one) slowed considerably whilst I had hotbar on here

Hi Banger
I've heard people taliking about it and it's definitely outlook..with smileys ect, i haven't looked for it but assumed it would be within the latest update..one of my friends friend has downloaded it and I know that Charm on ch dogs downloaded it too.I use incredimail normally but my anti virus programme only checks outlook or netscape, so have been using outlook lately which is sooooo boring, compared to incredimail.

Tracey it sounds like a non-microsoft add on, I've not seen anything like that and tend to keep my computer right up to date with Windows Update. I am using Windows XP Pro with Outlook Express 6, can you tell me where to download it from Tracey so I can have a look ?

I have uninstalled this hotbar rubbish, I had no idea this was the cause of my computer going slower, I have been recycling everything that I didnt use, as I thought I had too much on the computer and that was why everything had slowed down, as soon as I uninstalled it everything is so much faster.
