Max is now 2½ years old, and he still does this wee'ing thing when I first see him on a morning. I thought at 2½ he would have grown out of it by now, but still does it. The only way to stop it is to ignore him :( which I dont like doing but as soon as my hands go on his head to stroke him there's a little puddle on the floor. Is this submissive urination or is he just excited ?

He may give up eventually - we had this problem with our older dog when my husband came home from work :) He (the dog :) ) did give up finally at the age of about 4 :) But as you say - the less attention they are given, the less they wee :)

Edited - I have always presumed that it was submissive as he only did it for my husband :(

Thats funny that, cause he does it with my mum too but not my dad, he just growls at him.

Quite a few young Staffys i know often do this - Gus has done it on the odd occasion . I just put it down to being over excited
