I am trying to purchase a plant called Equisetum Hymale (horsetail). I cannot seem to track any suppliers down on the net, anyone know where I could get it. I have already tried local garden centres. Thanks diane
The only plant I know called "horsetail" is a most pernicious weed! Once introduced (if it likes your soil) you'll never get rid of it.

I agree, it is very efficient at spreading! But if you are determined, try the RHS Plant Finder on line. Here is a link to the RHS http://www.rhs.org.uk Failing that, when you're out walking, dig some up - I know it is illegal, but somehow I doubt if it will make any impact on horsetails;) Jean

Well, would you believe it! It is on there in several varieties including a variegated form. Maybe the cultivated forms are more manageable than the common wild ones. If that is the case, I take back what I said about 'liberating' some from the wilds - go for the tamer varieties! Jean
Thanks everybody. I have contacted a supplier from the RHS site.It can be invasive but is really nice if contained.I live in Lincs and it is ideal in a large, soggy garden. It has other uses too as a cleaner of metals and a cure for cystitis! Diane
