will the kennel club register. I have heard an absolute horror story today regarding a lady who breeds her bitch every 6 months. The poor dog is 3 years old and already on her 4th litter!!! And to top it off she sells the pups(GSD's) for £700!!! They are advertised as KC Reg and I have been told that the KC will register them if it is a private breeder. Is this true??? As I am absolutely gobsmacked. People have contacted this lady and she openly admits that she breeds for the money!! What can be done?? Does anyone have any suggestions in how she can be stopped.

If the KC registers a litter from a bitch, it will not register another litter from that bitch within 12 months.

They dropped that rule and you can register a litter in less than 12 months from the same bitch.

as I understand it - that is only in exceptional circumstances and where permission is requested before the bitch is mated.

They did bring in a rule to stop this but apparently due to complaints from breeders whose bitches have cycles of 10 mths etc for seasons, it was dropped.
I think it was dropped about April last year.

Yes youare right, and now this person is abusing the priveledge. Only thing is once they reach six litters they won't be able to register any more, but then I suppose they will just sell them unregistered or with pseudo registration with one of the puppy farm registrations.

No amount of rules will actually stop people exploiting their bitches if they want to.

I am stunned that the KC will let abuse like this happen to a dog. It really is sickening. I know of people who's bitches have come into season 1-2 months earlier and have asked the kennel club their permission to mate the bitch, but for them to let something like this go on is beyond me.

The kennel club never cease to amaze me... :)
Perhaps the tax office might be a more suitable place to start to stop this breeder....they only need a few details re possible tax evasion and bingo they take the bull by the horns, if it saves these poor females being mated every six months, and also helps a few pups , whose welfare can't be paramount...give me the deatils and I'll do the deed.
Makes my blood boil.

No the rspca probably won't be of any help either, like i said the only real way to stop these people is the tax office..of course they won't give a damn about the welfare of the dogs but it will have a knock on effect hopefully. But yeah email any details please , I have no problem with trying to stop people like this.

the rspca will not do anything as long as the bitch is feed and not being hit or any thing like that they will do nothing, i know this as a EX friend of mine done this to a bitch of her's (well is still doing) she has had 6 litter's and she is due again soon and se is not eveny maken a lot of money of this as the bitch is unregisted and she only get's £50 per puppy.
i'v reported her 3 or 4 times to the rspca and even been in her houes when they call and that's all they said was that they should think about feeding her more.

Krys who is this woman - can you mail me please and let me know, we have to think of ways to try and stop her! I am so disgusted at people like that - those poor poor dogs.
