My 7 year old bitch passes foul smelling wind every evening, she is fed early mornings and usually has a couple of bonios around 5pm,she has been fed Iams for couple of years, can you tell me if it could be her diet causing this problem.dotlrb@yahoo.co.uk

I noticed my dogs passed a lot of wind on Iams/Eukanuba. I just switched food not that long ago, they still pass wind (still stinks of course doesn't every bodys :D), but not as often as before thank goodness. :)

I notice that my hubby has the same problem. Waiting with baited breath for the responses.

Why don't you try him on Nutro? :D ;) :D

I have windy and non windy Labs who are on the same food. Diet can affect this but Min the windy one has colitis and so wind is part and parcel of her condition ! MB the pup was wind but this has definately calmed down now as she has got older and Moose our 18 month has and touch wood has never been windy !
They all do however belch alot !

Could be the diet - try a change and see if it makes any difference. Is your dog a medium or large dog? If she is and is bending down to her bowl she could be swallowing air - try a raised food bowl. Or if she gulps her food down, air can be the problem again - put a tennis ball or something in the middle of the food so that she can't eat too fast.
