Hi everyone,
As a matter of interest, does anyone know which of the mastiff type breeds (eg. PMD, Mastiff, Dogue de Bordeaux, Newfoundland etc etc) has the longest lifespan? We were surprised to read that Great Danes and St Bernards only have an average lifespan of 6-9 years. We've read about why this is, but we were wondering if any of these breeds have a longer lifespan?
Thanks
Kathy

Hiya,

A bit of info for you from Aprils 'your dog'

Mastiff - Up to 10 yrs

Dogue de Bordeaux - 9-15 yrs

Neapolitan mastiff - Up to 9 yrs

Cane Corso - 9-11 yrs

Not sure about Newfies and PMD's though...sorry, someone else will probably come along who knows...

HTH
