My pup has just started going out after her vaccinations.

She barks & growls at almost everything especially when in the car. Is this something she is lekely to grow out of, or is there a possibility of this progressing into a major problem. She is starting obedience training this evening so she will start to meet new people and dogs.

Going on what you have said in your mail, i would suggest the pup is simply worried about what she is seeing and reacting by being maybe a bit defensive. It could develop if you dont get her well socialised, but you sound as if you have that side in hand :)

Try not to fall into the trap of soothing her or she may feel she is being praised for her reactions. It may be best to either distract her, or even totally ignore her.

Invest in "The Perfect Puppy" by Gwen bailey, as it is a great read and very sensible. Also guides owners into adolescense

Best wishes

My dog is the same he barks and growls in the car at everyone thats walks by he has done this since he was a puppy, I took him to puppy classes which did him good for socialising with dogs and people. I think she is just proberly being protective over her territory, thats what I put it down to with my dog as he is fine when out of the car. He is a year old now and still the same.
