Could anybody tell me pls that what is the difference between Alsatian & German Shepherd ? Are they same or different type of dogs ? Sorry for asking such a naive question.

Hi Guest
There is no difference between them. The German Shepherds name was changed during the war to the Alsation Wolf Dog, as it was deemed un-patriotic to have anything with German in its name. Was given back it's rightful name during the 70's in England.HTH

Tha actual breed name is now listed as German Shepherd Dog (Alsatian).

Hi Guest
You will find however that the English type tend to call their dogs Alsations rather than German shepherds, even though they are all German shepherds. :)
