Topic Dog Boards / Health / Elderly Bon's problem comes to light

Some of you who replied to a post of mine concerning our Bon and her stiffness. Well, time has gone by since I last posted but things have been really mad lately. Just to fill you in Bon was put on to Rimadyl after being stiff, or that what we thought, then panic struck as Bon got worse and was being sick and not very well at all, after various visits, stays at the vets, then a scan was carried out (wish this had been done straight away) and a large lump was found attached to her spleen and hence operated on and removed straight away and then just to confirm the worse, the lump has been tested and has come back as being cancer.

But, now our Bon has been fine for several weeks, lots, and lots of TLC and she running about enjoying life to the full, and that's what we intend on doing with her as we really have no idea how long we have left with her. I know that dogs can last well without their spleen but the has the cancer spread that's what we don't know, but I'm lovely every extra minute I get with Bon as I didn't think she be with us now.

I am glad that Bon is feeling much better and I do hope that the cancer has not spread and that you get many more years of happiness with you lovely dog. Sarah
