Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / training in Nr Bristol

I was wondering if anyone could reccomend a good training school in the Bristol or south-west area, preferably one that is not reward only training as we have tried this and it did not work too well. When we are out and my dog is excited he really isn't interested in treats. Thanks.

Hi C
Try http://www.scallywags1.freeserve.co.uk. There may be something in your area. Hope this helps. :)

Depends how far down you want to come but we've a good one just above Taunton - Foxdown Training Centre

Reward training doesn't have to be treat(food) based. I used a tennis ball as a reward cause he wouldn't take food.

I found training classes through the dogs homes. They are able to give you a list, and I found the lady who ran it to be most helpful on the phone, telling me about what they did at the classes, before I started. And as mine is a rescued dog, the lady I spoke to was very intereasted to know of any problems, (mine just doesn't like other dogs) all in all I felt assured that these people knew what they were doing.
I hope this helps.
