I am hoping to buy a pure bred puppy. What certificates should I recieve as proof of pedigree? I'm really clueless on this(first time dog owner so pardon any stupid questions I may ask )

Hi,
As well as the pedigree itself which details the names of dogs in the puppys background, you should get a Kennel Club registration form which should be signed by the breeder to allow you to transfer the puppy into your ownership. When you first go to see the puppy you should be able to see Mum too, although dad may not be there unless the breeder owns both parents.
Hope That Helps

Make sure it is KENNEL CLUB REGISTERED and not Dog Lovers registration which is worthless .
There are quite a few niave people who have been duped by this - whereby puppy farmers sometimes say to a new owner that the Dog Lovers Reg is just the same as the KC Reg . IT IS NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck in your search :)

Hellome.

It is great to see people asking the questions before collection as it is sometimes too late after words.

I agree with the others but if you are unsire in anyway call the KC.. you can check the details over the phone I believe. PS get written receipts and always pick up your puppy with a freind also.

Good luck.

Pam
