Hello,
I am looking for a stud pug in the london area.
I have a pug x pekenese and am finding it hard to find anyone willing to let their pug breed with her.I am not looking to create the perfect showdog!
just lovely family pets for myself and family, no profit involved. Is this the norm
for pug owners to be quite so snobby. My little twinkle is an absolute delight and takes the best bits from each of her parents. If anyone can be of help please let me know.

Hello Marnie ....I don't think the pug owners are being snobby ...it is just that the resulting puppies would be crossbreeds and most stud dog owners would like to see the progeny doing well in the show ring . Whilst your little Twinkle may well be a delight and have the best bits from both breeds , there is no guarantee at all that her pups would be the same ..they could all have the worst bits from both breeds.

Hi Marnie,
I was going to say exactly the same as Melody. I don't think they're being snobby, they're just protecting their reputations. I know I wouldn't want my stud dog to sire crossbreeds.

You've been very lucky with your Twinkle. There's no guarantee that the next cross will be nice at all.

Sorry. :)

hi
I think you are going to struggle to find a reputable stud owner willing to let there dog produce cross bred puppies, i wouldn`t let my stud dog serve a cross bred i have frequantly turned down people with pure breds because of lack of BVA tests and incompatible pedigrees i presume most stud dog owners have done the same.
There are lots of lovely cross breds crying out for homes in the rescues wouldn`t your family and friends be better to give one of them a chance rather than adding to the problem? im sorry if this offends you but i would right it off as a very bad idea
