My 5 month old Rottie has recently had a urine sample taken, which came back with traces of Struvite Crystals.
Has anyone heard of this before?
All replies gratefully received!!!

Hiya , if you use a
Search Engine and type in the words it brings up lots of info

Thanks have done that, but quite a few contradict themselves.
I know a little more about it now.

She may well need a special diet or at least a modified one, if she is producing crystals then it could lead to stones. Has she had an infection or been unable to wee properly?

max has had no probs before.
Last week he just started to urinate around the house almost uncontrollably.
The urine sample showed traces of struvite crystals and the vet has put him on some tablets to neutralise the acidity. He has improved so we are hoping that he will not have to continue taking tabs and that he will not have bladder stones.
W e have tried to change his diet byt unfortunately max is a very fussy eater!!!

There are diets you can make up yourself that he probably will eat and will cost you a LOT less. Try a search on homeopathic remedies and diets and see if that can help.
