Over the last couple of days I have noticed a clicking noise, like when one of our bone clicks, coming from my labs (6 months ols) back end, not yet managed to pin point which side, it's not all the time, and dosen't do it with any perticular movement, it very had-hoc. He's not in pain at all and dosen't bother him when I have ran my hands down his hip legs etc. (and he's still running round the garden like a loon) Has anyone experienced this, am I best to take hin to the vets to get it checked, or could it be trapped air as one of my books suggests!

Oh my god, what a coincidence! :)
I posted a message on here a couple of days ago, about my nearly 2yr old weimaraner whos hip clicks! I have booked her into the vets tommorrow, to see what they think, I am a very paranoid dog owner!
If you don't mind me emailing you privatley, I will let you know what the vet says.

Has your lab done anything too stenuous recently?? Any extra rough playing??

Hi Vicky,
Please let me know how you got on at the vets.

One of my young dals did this once, nearly scared me into the middle of next week...it turned out to be her nails catching in the (horrid) carpet! Hope it's something as simple as that with yours. :)

Definitely get it checked out if only to put your mind at rest.
Had my 11 year old Beagle/Pointer to the vet recently because I was sure that I could hear his ribs clicking & I was right - problem where his ribs met his backbone.
Let us know what happens re your pup

I had this clicking with our spaniel when he was a puppy, and was quite worried. I took him to the vet, a man of many many years of experience and he said it was the tendon and sinews catching on the still growing bone and that it was pass as the dog matured. Sure enough it has. Only trouble is it must be catching, I'm clicking everywhere.

Thank you for sharing that, Melody :D :D

I'm the same.
Perhaps we could organise a "percussion" group? :)

its common in the larger breeds as they grow...all mine have clicked as pups over the years...no longer take any notice as they grow out of it in time.
