I am looking for a black and white boxer pup its for a loving home, preferably as young as possible. I am willing to pay up to £200 and would like to take delivery in the london area sometime before the 19th of December. If you can help please e mail me at r.lloyd@icsl.ac.uk.

Hi

I've never heard of or seen a black and white boxer - do they exist?

I would have thought that £200 is a bit on the low side for a pup and your timing looks to be to coincide with christmas holidays. This is not the best time to settle new dog into a home unless it is going to be one of those rare homes where it is quiet and no christmas hullabaloo going on. You might therefore struggle to get what you are looking for at this relatively short notice. You never know - you might be lucky - but if you do have a busy christmas home - please do think very carefully about introducing a new dog at this time.

Any dog joining a home needs to be able to have attention and focus on the dog and as few distractions from the dog as possible. Most homes are very busy over Christmas - lots of people coming and going etc - presents, cooking and the poor dog can find it all too much.

Sorry to seem negative but you might want to think again about your timing. It might also allow you to save up a bit more to get the right pup.

regards

Black and white Boxers,
I think you mean a very dark brindle and white.

In the early days (Boxers are a relatively young breed only 100 or so
years old) There were a minority that did indeed have Black Boxers.
But these were frowned upon and eventually the breed standard disallowed Black as a base colour.
Brindle can vary in shades but a true brindle should have definate brindling
(i.e. visable black stripes).

I agree that £200 is on the very low side for a Boxer puppy.
Prices vary but for a well-bred and reared puppy £400-500 is a
realistic price to pay. Some breeders may charge more and some less.
Also please make sure that both parents have been heart-tested clear
dogs considered clear are those with grades Zero or one.

Christmas ins't an ideal time to get a puppy and most breeders I know
actually hold on to their puppies until after the Christmas festivities,
even though they would be ready to go before.
Best Wishes In Your Search.
Kirstine
