Does anyone know of a good quality whistle that can be used for gun dog work.? If so can you reccomend where i can get one from.
Many thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,
There are excellent gundog whistles made by Acme, black plastic, come in a variety of pitches (mine is a 211 1/2). We have a "country pursuit"-type shop near us where I got mine. I guess any shooting/fishing type shop should stock them.
Hope this helps. :)

Many thanks! I have just ordered a acme 210 1/2 for the higher pitch which hopefully wont be as loud as my current one which gives the mrs a headache! :D Just for your own records i got it from http://www.countryloversstore.com/Side_gundog_training2.htm which does a whole lot of gundog accessories.
Kind regards
Mark

Glad you found what you wanted. :D
I've made a note of the site. Thanks! :)

Most people use the Acme whistles Mark because of the ease of replacing one with an identical one in the event of loosing it. As I have the memory of a Gerbil I have three. One I wear and incase I forget to put it on, one in the car and just in case the one I wear gets torn off when blundering through the undergrowth, one in my jacket pocket. As the pitches are all identical I can swap them around at will!
