I only know that the average hip-score for GSPs is 10.

Hope this helps :)

I would suggest you find a good GSP breeder& chat to them about the breeds health problems! I walk a GSP week days, and he is still only young. Before I met his owners they were giving him about 3hrs exercise a day, I have shortened this! He has a funny was of walking& running, I beleive this is due to the amount of exercise he had a that very young age.

A good breeder will happily chat through all the breeds problems, as there are health problems that crop up in every breed!

If you read the recent Dog World breed notes it appears that they are having problems with aortic stenosis (Heart).
They are just starting out with the ascultation heart-testing.
As for other problems within the breed I am not sure as I don't own this breed.
The trick is to find an honest person that tells you a warts and all report, then you can weigh up everything in your own mind.

Not really answering your question :), but here goes with a sweeping generalisation, sorry if I offend anyone .... would say that in any breed of dog, a breeder who tells you that there are no health problems with either the breed or with their stock is being economical with the truth.

The breeder you want to go to will tell you which health issues are being monitored in the breed, and what they have done to ensure they are breeding healthy stock. Even if the breed is generally healthy, if any condition is not regularly monitored, it can very soon deteriorate throughout the breed.
