Just wondering. Reading this has made me aware of the benefits of the kong.. But I am getting a 8 week doberman this week. What size would be recommended I have seen the large black kong in a local petshop but it looks to big. Any ideas or thoughts.. THanks

Any ideas on what to stuff the Kong with for a 5 month old puppy?

Hi patmenikou,
There are loads of ideas here for strange fillers for your kong, but personally i put a Markie in mine. Its fits perfectly and takes ages to get out as they have to be intelligent and crush it. You can get Mini Markies and Standard Markies, When my dog was a pup i gave him mini ones as treats and put a normal one in the kong. Now he eats the normal ones as treats. (and loves them too!)
Hope that helps (It's a lot less messy than cream cheese, marmite etc....)

IIRC, plum, peach, cherry and apricot pits and apple seeds all contain _cyanide_, not arsenic...
And are extremely bad for people as well as dogs. Takes about four peach pit kernels (which look uncomfortably like almonds, and in fact the only way to tell the difference once hulled is by the bitter taste of the kernel) to kill a smallish human. Wouldn't want to estimate for a dog.
I'd never heard of the broccoli thing - I was under the impression that it was good for most critters - certainly our birds enjoy it.
