Did YOU go?   What did you think of the final line-ups/winners?   How interesting that both Groups were won by Italian exhibits!   Lovely Jackie and the Whippet was pretty much a given imo but yet again the BOB Basset didn't even make the cut

I recorded the evening show so I could skim through all the 'rubbish'!!

Didn't go but watch the live stream from the main arena on YouTube. I mainly watch for the different activities but always watch the groups. I liked the Jack Russell. Was nice to see Beardies win the Breeders' competition in fact it was great to see all the breed teams.

So now it's all over for another year.    I thought  the BIS line-up was nice.  I had gone with the Jackie, but there was something about him having that much bone that in the end, put me off.  He was cute and showing well however.  I felt for the Cocker Spaniel who was clearly upset with the noise/big crowd and didn't show.

Overall, yeah for that pretty Whippet who was so balanced, unexaggerated and did show her socks off.

I thought it was a nice line up too  and I agree with all your comments, there was something about the Jack I didn't like, he was very showy, and very cute, but too much of a show dog for a Jack Russel for me, though I'll admit that may not make sense. David Todd lives down the road from me, I was really rooting for him but the young cocker was a little overawed wasn't she.

What was the comment before BIS about, in the collecting ring, when Clare Balding said we 'd better not go too near the Tibetan Mastiff because he might not like it?! That didn't make it sound like he had a great temperament?

The original imports didn't have the best reputation for temperament. I do hope this doesn't create a great deal of interest in them. Potential problems in the wrong hands!

Unfortunately off the cuff comments like that attract the wrong people to a breed. Also not helpful generally
I know little about them but have met someone who shows them and is very experienced.  His have wonderful temperaments

I noticed he was stood back on the rbis box as far as he could get from the whippet.

Yes, I heard her say that as she sidled past the dog who was standing back too.  Interesting!

I noticed too that after he was called out as RBIS, he was stood away from the Whippet.  Again interesting.  But at least the handler had the dog under control.

I was watching Crufts catch up on You Tube and noticed the presenter patted/stroked the other big, powerful breeds but kept his distance from the Tibetan Mastiff.

As a dog, the Jack Russell was gorgeous. But he/she was not a typical JRT you seen in the UK. It reminded me of a JRT/Bichon cross my neighbour used to own.

As I now own a Whippet, and have previously owned Mini Schnauzers and a Jack Russell, I couldn't decide which one I wanted to win.
