Just watchd wood green the dog house christmas show
Maybe i am unreasonable but how sensible is it to be pushing that they are trying to home the dogs for Christmas. Everyone in christmas jumpers including the dog , hats and decorations
No mention of the dogs not going to new homes until after Christmas and it appeared that they were homed very close too. Not the best time to take on a new dog imo
Where did the slogan a dog is for life not just christmas go ? Surely that should have been said at least it would have made a point

I watch this programme (and used to work for them as a home checker) and have recorded the Christmas episode.

What bothers me about what goes on is at no time do I hear prospective new owners being asked for how long the dogs will be left at home alone, and I hate it that they use harnesses on most, if not all, their dogs and they seem to be wearing them all the time - in their kennels.

Yes, imo, all dogs should go to their new homes after the festivities are over, depending on who the people adopting are (busy or quiet home over this time).

That was what was bothering me maracas. No talking about timing of rehoming. I know its entertainment and advertising for them but it's hardly education
I think you and I differ in our opiin on harnesses v collar
Nonwaybwouod I leave one on in kennels but andouble ringing one. Ie ring on chest and back well fitted I have found brilliant both for safety and stops amy damage to the neck.
Well fitted and double ring being the important bit that way the dog can't turn the harness into a tool to help it tow you along.
If u are able to train your dog to walk nicely at all times ( plenty of knowledgeable  but failure to put into practice in my case) also for tiny dogs  harnesses are safer imo

Lots of rescues are pushing a sofa for Xmas for these dogs. I understand the sentiment but rehoming just before Xmas is the worst time, often to be taking on a new dog, be it a rescue or a puppy.

Yep sue that was exactly how I felt
