Air Fryers
Anyone got one? I keep seeing recipies and articles so thinking about possibly getting one but so many makes, sizes, capacities etc.
Any comments and advice very welcome please.

I haven't as i am not sure yet as to how much it would use it. Are they going to become like the microwave and normal.kitchen item.or will it be yet another thing to add to the bread maker ,sandwich maker and so on. Also cant decide if I cook the kind of things that are talked about.eg chicken and chips . Can't remember the last time we had chips .
Definitely something to research well .Martin Lewis did and article and I think which have done one too

Know what you mean :-) I have sandwich toaster and halogen cooker in bottom cupboard !.
I do have a deep fat fryer - OH likes chips but I limit us to max of once every week or less often and only use it for chips
There was a prog on Beeb 1 this afternoon that was quite interesting about the types of stuff you can cook in it. quite surprised at some of what they did in it. healthier than ready meals in the microwave and cheaper than an ordinary oven for home-cooked.
An airfryer is the best thing since sliced bread.....

Yes I have one. Have not used my oven for over 3 years.
I now have a Ninja and would say it is worth paying more …had cheapo ones before and the Ninja is far superior in cooking and keeping clean.

I've got one, I love it. Just wish I'd bought a bigger capacity one. Good tip if you get one buy the silicone liners to cook things in. Way easier to keep wishing those than the air fryer basket.
I wouldn’t be without one now, I hardly ever put my oven on.
I bought a Ninja air fryer a few weeks ago and yes, it takes up a massive amount of workspace. It is good for burgers when the grandchildren are here and for grilling fish. We rarely eat meat and I don't have time to test out the recipes that came with the fryer. I tried making chips - we eat a lot of potatoes- but the chips were dry and boring. I took my son-in- law's advice and made chips his way.. Slice potatoes as normal for chips ,spread out on greaseproof paper on oven tray and coat in good quality cooking oil. You can rub a bit of celery salt in with them. No need for masses of oil, just a good coating. Put in really hot oven until done to taste. Really good chips without the need for deep fat frying.
Hope this not off topic for forum.
I am on my third halogen oven and am finding it hard to tell whether an air fryer would be any better - though I am willing to be educated, and probably could be tempted into trying one.
My original halogen oven came with a stainless steel chamber which splits to allow it to be used as a grill. As the diameter of these ovens has stayed the same over the years, I have held on to this base and just replaced the light/fan cover when the controls have started to get wonky. It cleans up like new, and I can see the food cooking through the glass cover.
I have used a halogen oven for years now (15+) but I use it mainly as a grill. My daughter bought an airfryer a few months ago and she and her kids use it all the time. The only time the "proper" oven is used is at Christmas (bigger meals for more people) or if she's cooking a large joint of meat. The airfryer is quite noisy but seems quite good for smaller meals. I'm still happy with my halogen, cooking just for one.
