Hi Guest
Expect some very strong opinions on this subject.

Why do you want to breed her? I don't agree to anyone breeding dogs with no papers.
I have a gorgeous entire brown/tan dobermann, he would no doubt produce lovely puppies, he is pedigree, but I would not dream of letting him sire a litter of pups.

If you were to breed from this dog your pups would inevitably end up where you got their mum:(

hi
I agree with Bobs comments without the papers you have no idea what the breeding of this bitch is or about any health issues involved in the breed!
Most people look for a pedigree puppy to ensure good breeding, health and temprement there are people out there who wont bother to seek out a reputable breeder and will have a puppy just because it looks nice! do you really want puppies to end up in this type of home and ultimatley clogging up the rescue centres.
I am suprised the rescue centre did not make you sign something to say you wouldn`t breed from her or spay her (if she was old enough)
Having a pedigree bitch is not a reason to breed ,good breeders do a lot of research into bloodlines, health, and the future of there chosen breeds

How can you be certain she is pedigree if there are no papers and she's from rescue??

I have to agree with Bob and Kate, there are far too many unwanted dogs and puppies around as it is.

Hi,
The other posters are quite right - rescue centres are full of pups produced "on a whim".

She is too young to breed yet anyway.

All breeds have potential problems for which breeding stock needs to be tested, whether it's hips, eyes, hearing, heart, liver problems etc etc etc. To be tested the animal needs to be identified, for which it needs its KC registration papers. Breeding from untested stock leaves you wide open to potential lawsuits if the pups turn out to be 'faulty' - testing doesn't guarantee healthy stock but at least the breeders can prove they have done their best to avoid problems.

Hello,
I thought rescue centres neutered/spayed all dogs before rehoming? Obviously not:mad:
Please do not breed her there is already too many unwanted animals in the world.
I stopped breeding a few years ago because i was always worried about my puppies wellbeing & if they were being treated well or if they had been shoved from pillow to post all their life because no matter how hard a breeder tries to vet the new puppy buyer you still can't be sure can you?
I love dogs too much to even consider breeding to sell the puppies to strangers now, i think if i ever were tempted to take a litter from my JR bitch just to keep her line & temperament i would keep all the puppies & have them neutered/spayed all except the very best dog/bitch as i wouldn't want to buy another from a breeder as it would just encourage them to breed more.
A hypocrite people might say i am, but i came to my senses about dog breeding along time ago & the way some animals are treated is beyond evil, i fully respect caring breeders/exhibitors who breed to help the breed but don't understand why others would want to breed so many poor little pups for profit.
Your either in it for the breed or the greed i say.
Sorry if i have offended anyone but it wasn't meant too.
Jenny.

If you adopted this dog from a rescue you should have signed a form to say you would not breed from her? sometimes rescues havent nuetered them due to some reason maybe she is just finishing a season or similar or they wait till they are in a new home first.
I would be really annoyed if one of our rescue bitches went and was bred from,we have young ones in which a far too young to spay one is 4 months but we would insist that she was spayed when old enough we do have to trust the word of some people and sadly not everyone is as honest as they should be.
Breeding from a rescued bitch is not ethical and as the other poster said some pups will end up in rescue.

If you signed a contract with the rescue centre agreeing NOT to breed (and most reputable rescues include this as part of your agreement to take the dog) then breeding from her would put you in breach on contract, and they would be completly within their rights to take the dog back if that is what is agreed when you first signed........

What are your reasons for breeding her ?
There are lots of unwanted dogs in rescue centres already .
