As some will know i live in Croydon
OK on the very edge not in the town itself so is actually quite wooded and leafy
In the last week we have had 2 pheasants in the neighbours garden a, heron  looking I assume for ponds of which there are a few ,and just now a woodpecker arrived in the garden among the many garden birds .as for foxes we have three that visit daily and the occasional visit from badgers and squirrels.  I know mostly common creatures but still lovely to feel they are around us in an area
Especially when mamy think of croydon as just the bad stuff you hear about
There are good things too

I used to drive a nightbus in Edinburgh and was constantly amazed at the wildlife you see in the middle of the night, even in the city centre. Lots of foxes of course, rats too, but the occasional badger, otter, deer, various owls. It's lovely to see isn't it.

It certainly is. We occasionally see deer and rabbits in the wood behind us too.
